What Results Should a Window Tint Marketing Agency Actually Deliver? (Real Reporting & Analytics Explained)

"We'll get you more leads" is not a result. It is a sentence that sounds like one. If you have ever ended a sales call with an agency and realized afterward that they never actually told you what you would be able to measure, you are not alone — it is one of the most common complaints we hear from tint shop owners who have worked with a generalist agency before.

Here is what a window tint marketing agency should actually be able to show you, in numbers, on a recurring basis.

1. Cost Per Lead, By Channel

Not "we're running ads." A specific number: what did each lead cost from Google Ads, from Google Maps organic traffic, from social media, broken out separately. If an agency cannot separate this by channel, they cannot tell you which part of your budget is working and which part is not.

2. Cost Per Lead, By Keyword

One level deeper: within Google Ads specifically, which keywords are producing leads at $10 and which are producing leads at $60. Without this, you are trusting the agency's optimization decisions on faith instead of data.

3. Call Recordings and Call Volume

If your business runs on phone calls — and most tint shops do — your reporting needs to include actual call tracking: how many calls came in, from which source, and ideally recordings so you (or the agency) can audit whether those calls were real prospects or wrong numbers and spam. A report that only shows website clicks is missing the channel that likely drives most of your bookings.

4. Google Maps Ranking Position, Tracked Over Time

Not a one-time screenshot — an ongoing record of where you rank for your core local keywords, checked on a consistent schedule. Maps ranking moves gradually; you should be able to see the trend line, not just be told "it's improving."

5. Appointments Booked and Revenue Attribution

Leads are not the finish line — booked jobs are. A serious reporting setup connects a lead all the way through to whether it became an appointment and, ideally, tracks it against actual revenue. This is what a proper [CRM and lead management system](/services/lead-management) is built to do, and it is the difference between "we generated 40 leads" and "we generated 40 leads, 22 of which booked, worth roughly $X."

6. Full-Funnel Coverage, Not Just Top-of-Funnel Ads

"Full funnel" gets thrown around as a buzzword, but it has a specific, checkable meaning for a tint shop:

  • **Top of funnel:** Google Ads and Google Maps capturing people actively searching
  • **Middle of funnel:** retargeting ads bringing back people who visited but did not book
  • **Bottom of funnel:** CRM follow-up, missed-call text-back, and AI chat/voice converting the leads you already paid to generate

Most agencies only run the top layer. If retargeting and follow-up are not part of what you are being billed for, you are only getting a fraction of what "full-funnel" should mean — and you are very likely losing a meaningful share of the leads you already paid for to slow or nonexistent follow-up.

What a Real Monthly Report Should Contain

At minimum, expect: total leads by source, cost per lead by source and keyword, call volume with recordings available on request, current Google Maps ranking position for your core terms, and appointments booked. If your current report is a PDF with impressions and clicks and nothing tying back to actual phone calls or bookings, ask why.

The Vague Answers That Are a Red Flag

  • "We're seeing good engagement" — engagement is not a lead or a booked job.
  • "Rankings take time" without a specific tracked number — fine as a general truth, not fine as a substitute for showing you the actual trend.
  • "We don't have access to your call data" — then they cannot tell you if the leads they generated were any good.
  • A results guarantee with no specific metric or timeframe attached to it in writing.

The Bottom Line

A window tint marketing agency should be able to show you — in specific numbers, not adjectives — what a lead cost, where it came from, whether it turned into an appointment, and how your Google Maps ranking is trending over time. If your current reporting cannot answer those four questions, you are not getting marketing results. You are getting a monthly invoice and a vague sense that something is happening.
